On Race Day (August 20), Guests inside the waterpark can pick up four (4) ducks at no charge at the Duck Race table and register them for entry! Then it’s time to cheer on your ducks as they race toward the finish line.
The Duck Race is designed to celebrate our local community by supporting Black Hills Schools, keeping the fun – and the positive impact – right here at home. Bring your school spirit, grab your ducks, and get ready for a family-favorite tradition.

To ensure the race directly supports our local community, only officially recognized Black Hills schools are eligible to receive prize funds. You pick the school – public, private, or alternative – as long as it is located within the Black Hills region.

Ducks for Duck Race entry are distributed & registered at the Duck Race table inside the waterpark on August 20.

On August 20, 2026, rubber ducks will be available at no charge and may be registered at the Duck Race table inside WaTiki® Waterpark, while supplies last. Limit four (4) ducks/entries per person or household for the race. Ducks must be registered during the posted registration window on Race Day to be eligible. Race begins at 10:50AM; winners announced at approximately 11AM. Participant must be present at time of winner announcement and must designate an eligible Black Hills school to receive any prize. By attending this event, you agree to the use of your image in photos and videos for future promotional materials.
Prizes: Prize funds are awarded directly to eligible Black Hills schools only; no cash is awarded to participants. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Optional Duck Race Package is a souvenir bundle and does not increase odds of winning or entries in the race.
